Magnus is an alchemist, a sorcerer and a scientist differing slightly from his father in that his approach to seeking enlightenment is a lot more clinical. It also means, however, that he is a living Sorcerer's Stone. His blood alone has the power to bring true immortality, as well as transmute any substance into pure gold. Fully aware of the gravity of his secret, he protects it by posing as a hemophiliac. Only his blood in pure form can create gold and grant eternal life, but by taking drugs when he bleeds, he renders it inert. Because of his blood, he's truly immortal, save for when he is on any sort of drugs or medication.
